Dare Not Judge Until You Judge You

I can say that I have been doing a lot of studying lately in the Word. I’m learning and I’m gaining understanding and I’m so grateful to God for revelation to things I have read before and now I’m beginning to get clarity.

There is so much going on in our world now and I’m trying to grasp why, and how and what’s up with everything and everyone. I have been a harsh critic of everything in my entire life. Not taking into account of many things that are contributing factors. But, besides that; people, places and things near to me.

I’ve been studying the book of Matthew in The New Testament. Once again, glory to the Most High for understanding. I’ve been searching (studying) and I have been led to talk about judging and judgement today. Of course, we all know a lot about this. Because most of us do it on a daily basis. Consciously or unconsciously.

Matthew 7: 1-5 (KJV) Reads.. “Judge not, that ye be not judged.

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.” Basically, my interpretation is to be careful how treat others, especially when you haven’t taken into account who you are and your own faults.

I love reading different translations of the scriptures and I also love to search it further so I can dumb it down for myself even more. I’m not afraid to say that because I don’t get things the right way all the time. I have run across a website that has really broken down these particular verses. I will get to that site in just a moment. I am furthering my walk with Christ and I’m seeing that a lot of things that I have been doing in my life as a believer.. I haven’t necessarily and honestly checked myself and my heart. When it comes to judging others and believe we are speaking for Christ when we boast and spit out scriptures to others because it is law and it is a matter of fact. We don’t necessarily read deep into what we are trying to convey to others ourselves. At least, I hadn’t. We can’t do the work of God if we are angry trying to get our points across or if we are forcing the Word down people throats and constantly judging them for what they are not getting right. Do you have everything right?

“Humans, specifically Christians, only have the authority to make statements of judgment based on the Words of God, Christ, and the Spirit.” (Taylor, Luke and Megan. Jun 13. Matthew 7 Bible Study Notes.2, October 2024. Matthew 7 Bible Study Notes — 2BeLikeChrist)

I loved how this author of this study guide tells us how to convey the Word as statements. Not as hate, not as boasting, and not as if you better had. We are to make the Word clear and for those to understand based on the Words of the Father. clear enough for them to want to seek out what they heard, and not feel demonized and attacked. Jesus didn’t attack people. He spoke the truth. It was left for those who wanted more of it to follow Him and others who didn’t want to follow Him to go about their business but was warned.

I have a problem when it comes to things I see wrong and not the will of God. I have a habit of pointing things out and making it as if things are just ridiculous if you don’t change immediately. (But, there is something in my eye. Matthew 7:3) I can’t be a follower of Christ if I don’t fix what’s wrong in my life before trying to fix other people wrongs. (Hypocrite). usually, we spot the wrong in others faster because we are doing the same things that the person is doing and we correct them, but don’t correct ourselves.

In order to help others be true disciples. Be a better example.
